Finishing touches and an update

I’m just finishing up the final touches on this blog!  I bought the domain name “californiatocaledonia.com,” made a super cheesy logo, and rearranged the theme a little bit so my friends and family could navigate the blog a bit easier.

Now, an update!

I received my nomination from my American Uni earlier this month, which basically just means they approved my application.  From there, I had to complete my application to the University of Strathclyde and turn it in, which I did last week.  Now I just have to wait until I hear back from Strathclyde!  I applied to live on campus there, which I feel might be the best fit for me, both logistically and financially.  I didn’t initially feel this would be the best, but now I am stoked!  The halls seem to be much nicer than the ones at San Diego State, and for that I am thankful.

I will be sure to let you all know when I hear from Strathclyde!

Up, up, and away!

In 8 months, I will be packing my life, and moving over 5,000 miles away to study at the University of Strathclyde

I have been dreaming of this day for years.  The first time my family and I went to Scotland, I was in awe.  I couldn’t believe the castles, the people, the history, the accents.  Everywhere I looked, I saw something different than at home.

I live in a big city, but it can start to feel awfully small when you have been here for 19 years.  I have lived in the same 2-mile area all my life, and go to college 12 miles from my home.  We have travelled to Europe as a family quite a few times, but I have never actually left.  Going to Strathclyde will be an amazing experience, and I have never been more excited about anything.

This is hopefully going to turn into a place where I can write about my travels, experiences, frustrations, and personal triumphs while I am in Scotland.  I hope you enjoy reading about my experiences!
